NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Belmont Fire District will take place on December 10, 2024 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Belmont Fire Department Firehouse located at 80 Schuyler Street, Belmont, New York for the purpose of electing the following fire district officers: One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2030; All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Belmont Fire District, not convicted of any degree of arson and shall file in writing their name, and the position they are seeking with the Secretary of the Belmont Fire District, at P. O. Box 11, Belmont, New York 14813, and must be actually received by the Fire District Secretary on or before 5:00 p.m. on November 19, 2024. Pursuant to Town Law 174(2), the person receiving the greatest number of votes for the office of fire commissioner shall be elected for a term of five years. Any elector of the Belmont Fire District who shall be registered voter with the Allegany County Board of Elections on or prior to November 19, 2024 and who shall have resided in the Belmont Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to vote. To provide fiduciary support to the Belmont Fire Company and public education and awareness to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors.
VISION
To serve a community that practices Fire safety and well-being supported by a well-trained and outfitted Fire Company.
OUR GOALS
We exist to equip the Belmont Fire Company with up-to-date and well-maintained/functional equipment to support public safety throughout the district and surrounding communities.
We seek to improve the Belmont Fire Company's ISO score to lower Home owner insurance premiums through the Belmont Fire District.
